Takuto was Meroko’s new assigned partner. Her old one had left her alone, and she had vowed never to love again. This was part of her curse, each time she falls in love, she would become hurt.
Takuto was attracted to his new partner almost instantly. She was weird, but good looking. She took care of him. What's more, Meroko always told Takuto that she loved him. He did not understand why..they had just meet. One day, he found her having a conversation with Izumi, her former partner. He was harassing her, but then when he kissed her, he almost thought her saw her kissing him back. Takuto was heartbroken, and instantly knew that any attempt on this girls heart was futile. Meroko was using him to make Izumi jealous, and she knew it.
It was only AFTER this incident that Meroko really did fall in love with him. By then, the damage was done. Takuto now was colder to her. It was as if he was trying to distant his heart from her.
