How did shipping begin?

So, how did it begin, anyway...?

Have you ever wondered why we are so crazy about romantic relationships in anime, TV shows, books, and movies? Of course, there was a time when this mattered very little to society, so when did it start?

Shipping started back in late 1993 thanks to a series called "The X Files". Before this show, while people supported TV, book, movie, and anime relationships, they never held down cults of fandom. While people would make comments such as "aww.. Jack and Jannet had a moment" (Three's Company referance), deep set fanbases and fanfiction-like terms never really got started until this series came about....wow..lots of repatition...

Now, the X Files is an amazing TV drama about the paranormal. In this series, two partners who are nothing alike star as the main relationship(Mulder and Scully) Many people were very intreiuged by their complex relationship compared to that of TV drama past, and hence began the reign of those known as "shippers". As more shippers started surfacing, another group began called the "Noromos" (that being "No romance")...IE, people who did NOT support the MulderXScully relationship, and believed it to be fake. Obviously, the groups began clashing, and it was all out war. In the end however, Noromo's became a dying party, and the few that survive do so in vain. For instance, this Noromo site is one of the few that exist to this day: >>[click]<<

Thanks to their downfall, shippers have been able to flourish all over the world, in all different types of fandom.
